Recognising Excellence
Creative excellence and commercial viability are key factors of consideration at the AHEAD Awards, which are ‘dedicated to the relentless pursuit of the exceptional, recognising design in all its forms’. Of twelve categories, two sensational projects supplied by Sanipex Group have been recognised for their meticulous attention to detail, courageous curation of products and ambient atmospheres.
Indigo Hotel Wins Best New Build
Indigo Hotel by IHG Hotels & Resorts won Best Hotel New Build, with the judges applauding the maximalist design style: “the bravery of the project should be commended, bringing regional art to the forefront whilst showing a spirit of creativity and collaboration.”
Known for delivering admirable design narratives, Hotel Indigo by IHG communicate culture and create connection with their imaginative spaces. As storytellers, the designers specified beautiful Bronze brassware and bush-hammered basins, emulating the sand dunes and traditional finishes in the region – whilst blending the lines between classic and contemporary. The gleaming walls add a further glint of glamour and communicate the UAE’s pearl diving history with mesmerising mother of pearl effect mosaics.
Sensasia Stories Wins Spa & Wellness
Sensasia Stories, designed by ROAR, won the Spa & Wellness Award with the panel commenting “This design is spot on. The connection between the materials, the lighting and the overall design is very cohesive. It’s a well-considered and detailed space.”
With the wellness trend ever evolving, the need to create memorable and monastic spaces for specification of spa’s sees designers welcoming products with alternative finishes and tactile textures that play with light and promote peaceful energy – as seen with the warming brushed copper Dornbracht brassware in Sensasia Stories.
