Vola the first 'modern' design tap
Design runs through Danish blood. There is a rich heritage of considered design that ranges from architecture to fashion. Combine this with an understanding of geometry and the Vola approach starts to emerge.
In 1968 Verner Overgaard, the founder of Vola, invited architect and fellow Dane Arne Jacobsen to collaborate on a ground-breaking design project. Both were passionate about craftsmanship, modernity, proportion and detail. The result brought the iconic Vola shape to life - which still lives on half a century later thanks to geometric precision and minimalistic design.
Precise and pure. The cylindrical form belies the complex hidden workings, which create elegance and flexibility in a deceptively simple design.
After more than 50 years Vola has achieved timeless tradition with each mixer maintaining it's rhythm, form and poetry. A new Vola product - such as the introduction of Matt White - can always be traced back to the ethos of 1968, demonstrating how consistency of form and function services the best modern design.
