'Travel like an explorer, stay like a local'

Part of the IHG group, Hotel Indigo are known for their unique, flamboyant designs, drawing inspiration from each location’s culture. With a mission statement to ‘Travel like an explorer. Stay like a local’ the Hotel Indigo Dubai actions this to a tee.

CID was one of the first to show a sneak peek of how vivacious colours and rich textures and detailed artworks reflect local culture. Accentuated by natural light flowing into the rooms, Shisha lamps, Dali-esque ships murals and 20th century travel are key features in the décor resulting in a lively yet relaxing atmosphere.

Bathroom Brief

The brief for spa-style bathrooms designed to allow guests to relax and unwind whilst never losing touch of the local culture meant materials needed to emulating the surrounding environment.

To create a modern yet authentic local look and feel a variety of products were brought together in the full bathroom supply. The modern cross handles of a bespoke-finished bronze basins mixer blends the lines between modern and traditional, whilst contrasting beautifully against the mother of pearl finish mosaics – representing the pearl diving history of the region. The warm metallic tone of the copper bush-hammered inset basin and Vintage bronze basins both compliment the carved wooden stands and emulate the sand dunes of outer surroundings.

Indulgent Design

The wall hung WC maintains a sleek look, as wall hung pans will always create an illusion of space. Paired with a white  flush plate, these items blend seamlessly into the backdrop of the mosaics whilst the toilet roll holder and bidet spray naturally coordinate to all brassware for a streamlined scheme. The 300mm showerhead offers guests an indulgent rain-shower experience, with a secondary handheld shower option for customisable showering. The shower valve coordinates to the basin mixer, with a slide rail for a customisable experience and handy washing line for guests. All items perfectly coordinate to the bronzed leather-effect wall coverings in some suites, and contrast against decedent iridescent tiling.

Bathtubs are provided to contemplate the day in most rooms; suites include a freestanding Bagnoquartz Matt White bathtub whilst standard rooms use a popular acrylic inset option – cosily placed within the showering area for a steam room effect.
